The
fastest growing segment of RC aviation, slow flyers and park flyers have
something for everyone. From the new flyer to the advanced stunt master,
there is a backyard flyer to suit your needs. The planes can be like the
Lite Stick or
J-3
Stick
and be based on the rubber powered flyer of yesteryear.
These planes can be put together in about 2 hours with no more than a modeling
knife, glue and screwdriver. The kits are made up of a balsa fuselage,
foam wing and tail, an electric motor and gear box and a plastic servo mount.
These planes are an great way to get started in Slow Flyers. Add a
transmitter, micro receiver, two sub-micro servos, speed controller, battery and
charger and you are ready to fly. The stiks are usually set up as a 3
channel (throttle, elevator and rudder) plane. Flight times with stock batteries
are usually around 5-7 minutes. These are probably the most heavily
modified planes around and this may account for a lot of their popularity.
If
you want a more traditional plane and like to build your own, Great Planes has
several balsa 3 channel slow/park flyer kits featuring built up wings.
The Tutor features a full fuselage and resembles a basic trainer like the PT-40.
It is set up for 3 channels and does not include the motor or gear box.
This is a kit for the builder that wants a traditional looking plane with sleek
lines and the simplicity of electric power. Does not include and
electronics.
The BLT (Basic Light Trainer) has a built up wing and a stick
fuselage for easy assembly. Like the Lite Stick the BLT has that nostalgic
look of the rubber powered planes we all remember
playing
with. An easy build kit, with the more traditional covered wing
construction. Does not include any electronics.
All out aerobatics can be
accomplished with the 4 channel foam ARF Crazy Sparrow. A
shorter wing
than
the Lazy sparrow with rudder, elevator, throttle and ailerons. This ARF is
prepainted and can be assembled in a few hours. Includes motor and prop.

The Fundango is a aerobat
parkflyer for the more experienced flyer. Comprising a built up wing and tail
feathers, it can be built with our without landing gear. A three channel
radio is required for throttle, ailerons and elevator. Does not include
electronics.
Radio Equipment & Electronics
If you already have an
FM radio by any of the major manufacturers you can add a GWS flight pack to
complete your aircraft. The flight pack consists of two sub-micro servos,
micro 4-ch receiver, 2 amp ESC and a battery.

We highly recommend the JR Quattro lite for all slow & park flyers. It
is an FM 4-channel transmitter with a micro receiver and two sub-micro-servos.
Just add the appropriate speed controller and a battery and charger and
you are set to fly.
We currently carry GWS pico sticks, Tiger Moths, J-3 Cubs, Great Planes
Fundangos, BLT, Tutors, Megatech Merlin, Capitol Flyer, Air Strike, Electrajet,
JR Quattro lite, Dumas Metro Flyer, Zagi, Kyosho electrics, astroflight, Hitec,
Futaba, mini-max, crazy max, micro hawk, hobbyzone firebird xl, firebird II and
other slow flyer and park flyer electric planes.
